That’s why, today, I’m happy to bring you my own Heil PR40 review, so you can decide if it might be the mic to power your own podcasting. I, too, was not all that blown away by the SM7 [and to that particular end, I also find myself in the Internet Minority ]Add me too - I love the PR-30 and 40 - I also use PR-22 where most people would use 57s. He's since been involved in the design of communications microphones, so he has a lot of expertise when it comes to designing mics with precise pattern‑control. This body and the internal hum bucking coil remove any worry about using the PR-40 near monitor screens or noisy lighting fixtures and controls. The H6 appears to have a 20db pad switch which is used to reduce the level of line level devices such as your mixer (page 10 of the H6 manual). Ideal for kick drums, bass amps, vocals, and broadcast voice-overs, it comes with an all-metal SM-3 stand adaptor, a storage box and cleaning cloth. At the moment, the PR40 is my main vocal mic; nothing I have sounds better on massed, multi-part harmonies. Using an unsecured network in a public place can be risky as unauthorised people may try to intercept anything you're doing online.

It is important to note that this mic does a great job of rejecting room noise, but Acoustic Sound Treatment never hurts! The SM7B may become a tad muddy in the lower registers, while the PR40 retains that deep low-end presence without becoming overzealous to the point of distortion. The PR 40 Bundle comes with your choice of black or champagne finish microphone and includes a PRSM Shock Mount and a PL 2T Boom Arm. The party line on this mic is that it has an unusually rich low end for a dynamic, and so I expected the lows to be hyped.Since 1982, Heil Sound has been the leading manufacturer of communications microphones and has a paramount understanding of phasing. They are clean, the PR30 has a bit more bass and proximity and needs a pop filter for voice applications. There were some reviews that mentioned its effectiveness with instruments; namely Bass, Didgeridoo, and Kick Drums.
