About this deal

My father might be back from the dead, and Sector 45 might be out of our hands, but Ella’s impact can’t be ignored.

The way Anderson and her own parents treated her or rather I'd say tortured her to death was gut-wrenching.Nicola Yoon, bestselling author of Everything, Everything'A raw yet astoundingly elegant examination of identity, loneliness and family that is unflinching in its honesty and power. After finishing this book, I went to the Goodreads page and I was so surprised to see the average rating is 4.

There were random gaps where stuff happened but we don’t get that, we get random other characters POV. Particularly since 90% of Juliette and Warner’s chapters for the first half of the book were flashbacks. I was left scratching my head when he knew that Nazeera, Kenji, Warner and Ella would jump out of the plane.Anderson being alive was a pet peeve for me because I did not understand why Mafi had to bring back a character they have spent the past three books trying to kill. It’s Aaron’s birthday, and Ella had promised herself when they got out, she would do everything she could to make Aaron’s birthdays a thing to be celebrated, to undo all the pain his father brought to him by his lashing in all the years past. Whether that is true or not in real life, is a different story, but for Ella and Aaron they are looking for ways to heal separately and together, as well as to help each other heal. Because who gives a shit about them when Warner and Juliette—oh pardon, Aaron and Ella— are the only ones that can stop the Reestablishment.

If you haven’t read the shatter me series what are you doing they are so so so so good I will not stop recommending them till the day I die and oh my lord Aaron Warner 🫶🫶🫶 my one true love the romance is great no smut other than the last book which has very minimal but oh me oh my I wish I could read it again for the first time, which btw it only took me 2 days to read each book and that’s coming from a deathly slow reading I’m talking 40 an hour. This book had so many plot twists after plot twists and I was just gasping and screaming all the time. When the children of the other world leaders show up on her doorstep, she wants nothing more than to turn to Warner for support and guidance.

The reunions sucked because the stakes felt so low and I never felt any adrenaline or excitement about their reunion.

Waiting four years to publish add-on books and then changing the identity of your main characters five years after their established names is just too much for me. I don’t know how to explain this but I was kind of disappointed by how it all turned out, yet at the same time I was going with the flow and enjoyed many scenes and parts of the book. At first I found this a bit frustrating because the memories would only come back in short spasms, and then we’d immediately go right back to Kenji. It’s CHEAP, but it’s even cheaper if you use it to deconstruct the basis of the entire series to sell more books. At the beginning of the series, I felt extremely iffy about Warnette (I knew they were endgame), especially considering how he was made out to be a villain.Or if you mess with it to explain how Warner and Juliette have always been soulmates and have always fallen in love even after their parents deleted their memories multiple times. The group is taken to their quarters, and Ella and Aaron have a lovely time together, and Aaron proposes to Ella, despite warnings from Kenji that he should get her a ring. And so typical for him he even bothers to explain it with his special brand of sophisticated dignity and poise!
