There are many holy places to visit in Madina. They are listed in brief as follows:
In Madina ziyarat, Masjid-e- Quba is the first mosque in the history of Islam. Holy Prophet (S.A) himself laid down the foundation of this mosque. This Masjid is situated three kilometers away from Mashiide-e-Nabvi. If a person offers two rakats of Nafl there, it will be equal to performing an Umrah. There are separate places of prayers in Masjid-e-Quba for Men and Women. Outside the mosque, there is date market. You can good quality dates from there. There is also a vast ablution place available in the mosque. Every day many visitors used visit this mosque from all over the world.
Masjid-e-Jummah is near to Masjid-e-Nabwi. While the Holy Prophet (S.A) once moved from Quba to Madinah Munawarra, while reaching the location of Bano-Salam-Bin-Auf tribe on his way to Madinah, he offered a Jummah Prayer there. Later on, the Masjid was constructed at that place. The mosque is situated in the south of Masjid-e-Nabvi.
The third place to visit is Masjid-e-Zarrar. It is the place where munafiqein used to counsel with each other against Islam. The Masjid was destroyed and burnt at the instruction of Holy Prophet (S.A). The ruins of this mosque are still preserved, so people get know how about this event. Masjid-e-Zarrar is also mentioned in Quran is a place of munafiqein.
Masjid-e-Ghamama is the place where Holy Prophet (S.A) offered a prayer for the rain. The government has built a Masjid at that place. The mosque is at a walking distance from Masjid-e-Nabwi. The government of Saudi Arabia has constructed pink wall all around the mosque, and this pink wall is decorated with the electric lanterns hanged with date trees. This Masjid is also known as Majid-e-Eid as the Holy Prophet (S.A) and his companions used to offer eid prayer there. Many pilgrims used to visit this Masjid and do offer nawafil there.
Ziarat Madina Sharief includes a visit to Masjid-e-Abubakar is located at that place where Caliph Abu Bakar (R.A) used to reside. This Masjid is forty yards away from Masjid-e-Ghamama. The mosque is not in its best of shapes, and the authorities are ignorant to remuneration for this mosque. This Masjid requires a great of repair and continence. It is located in southwest of Masjid-e-Nabwi.
In Madina ziyarat, Masjide-Ali is another important place to watch. It is believed that fourth Caliph of Muslim, Hazrat Ali (R.A) used to live at the same place. The mosque is situated in west of Masjid-e-Nabwi.
Masjid-e-Umar is situated near to Masjid-e-Ghamama, behind the telephone exchange. It has been painted with white color.
Masjid-e-Bilal is located near to dates market, and this market is adjacent to Masjid-e-Nabvi. One must try to visit the Masjid and offer nafls there.
In Madina Ziyarat, at Uhad Mountain and at the graves of Martyrs you can watch the graves of the number of martyrs participated in this battle. The grave of Syed-us-Shuhada, Hazrat Hamza (R.A) was also there. All of the graves are in inside close boundary through windows people can watch the graves. The great battle of Ghiwa-e-Uhud took place at the Uhad Mountain. Seventy Muslims soldiers were killed in this battle. As of the reason, not following the commands of the Holy Prophet (S.A) properly, muslims got a great loss. They got an initial defeat in this battle and afterwards they took onto Kuffars crew. Much of the improvements are needed to be made at this place as well, and this place with great history must be in need of such improvements.
Masjid-e-Qiblatain is a place where the Holy Prophet (S.A) was told to change his direction from Bait Ul Maqbas to Khana Kabba. While offering a prayer Holy Prophet (S.A) got these instructions and in a similar prayer both Holy Prophet (S.A) and Muslims changed their direction to Khan Kabba. That is the reason the Masjid is known as Masjid-e-Qiblatain. It is found to be a bit tricky to identify the exact direction of Kabba at this mosque, one must need to ask the other person for that. There are a good place for ablution in this Masjid, and one must offer two nulls there, once he gets a chance to visit.
Battle of Trench
Battle of Trench is another place to visit over. You can watch Masjid-e-Fatah (Victory Mosque) also as known as Masjid-e-Al-Ahzab there. There is also a place there where Muslims put their camps. There are also five more mosques near to this place. Amongst them is Hazarat Abu-Bakar, Hazarat Salman Farsi, Hazarat Ali, Hazarat Umar and Hazarat Saad Bin Maaz. Another mosque is being constructed in the name of Bibi Fatima (R.A). As far as the Trench is concerned, after fourteen hundred years it has been very difficult to identify as to where this was located exactly. Though a bit of information can be obtainable. While going for Hajj and Umrah, and booking any packages for Umrah, it is important to have knowledge about holy places to visit in Madina, as these places represent the great history of Islam. We as Muslims should be proud of our great history and need to visit these places whenever we get a chance.
